Node-locked License

Node-locked licenses limit the number of people who can use Unity Industrial Collection at one time by assigning seats to specific users in your organization.

To give new users access to Unity Industrial Collection, assign an available seat to the user. If all seats are already assigned, or more seats are required, connect with a Unity sales representative.

Before you begin creating with Unity Industrial Collection, you must assign available seats in your subscription to the people in your organization who need them. To assign a seat to a user, the user must have a valid Unity ID. The user can then activate their license in the Unity Hub.

To confirm that the configuration for your organization is correct and to assign license seats, follow these steps:

  1. Go to id.unity.com and create a Unity ID or sign into your existing account.
  2. Select Organizations in the left panel and do one of the following:
Select an existing organization for the subscription.
    or
Select Add new to create a new organization.
  3. Select Subscriptions & Services.
  4. Under Subscriptions, for Unity Industrial Collection, follow these steps:
    a. Identify the Unity IDs you want to assign seats to. If you want to see a list of all users in your organization or invite new users, select Members & Groups.
    b. Under Manage Seats, select the Unity IDs that you want to assign seats to.
    c. Assign seats to the selected users.
  5. You’re all set.

To access some features, additional steps may be required:

  • To download and activate your Pixyz Plugin node-locked license, follow the instructions here.
  • AxF and xTex importers are included with your Unity Industrial Collection seat. You can access them through the Unity Package Manager. Please refer to your product confirmation email for more information.
  • To install and activate your license for Unity SystemGraph, follow the instructions here.

Floating License

For users in your organization to use Unity Industrial Collection floating licenses, your system administrator must set up a Unity license server if one does not already exist. Once your license server is set up, users can “borrow” and return licenses from the set of available licenses in your organization.

If your system administrator has not yet set up a Unity license server, the administrator should follow these instructions:

  1. Go to id.unity.com and create a Unity ID or sign into your existing account.
  2. Select Organizations in the left panel and do one of the following:
Select an existing organization for the subscription. Note, you cannot mix seat-based (node-locked) and floating licenses in the same organization.
    or

  3. Select Subscriptions & Services.
  4. Under Subscriptions, select Unity Industrial Collection (Floating) and follow these steps:
    a. Select Configure License Server.
