Get Started With Unity Industry Licenses

The instructions below guide you through setting up your organization with Unity Industry and assigning seats. Follow the steps for the type of license you have purchased. Not sure which type of license you have? Check your product confirmation email for more details.

Seat-based licenses (node-locked)

Node-locked licenses limit the number of people who can use Unity Industry at one time by assigning seats to specific users in your organization.

Create an organization and assign seats to users

Follow the instructions below to claim your licenses, create or join an organization, and assign seats to your users.

  1. Claim your new Unity Industry licenses, using the link in your purchase email.
    • Select an existing organization or create a new one.
    • Confirm your selection.
  2. Assign Unity Industry seats to users
    • Select your organization from the Organizations section on Unity ID portal
    • Identify the Unity IDs in your organization you want to assign seats to.
      • Your users must have a valid Unity ID to receive a seat of Unity Industry. If they do not yet have a Unity ID, they can create one at id.unity.com.
      • To see a list of all users in your organization, or invite new users to your organization, select Members and Groups in the left panel from your organization.
    • Assign seats to your users.
      1. From your Organization’s page, click on Subscriptions and Services in the left panel.
      2. Click the “Manage Seats” button next to Unity Industry.
      3. Choose the Unity IDs you want to assign seats to.
      4. Assign seats to your selected users.

Your subscription entitles you to Unity Build Server. To set up your Unity Licensing Server and import your Build Server floating licenses, follow these instructions.

Access the licenses for your seat of Unity Industry

Your subscription entitles you to Unity Enterprise, the Pixyz Plugin, Unity Mars, Havok Physics and Starter Success.

Use the Unity Hub to install the Unity Editor, and to manage projects and licenses. Follow the steps below to activate your license:

  1. Download and install the Unity Hub.
  2. Sign into your Unity ID. If you don't have a Unity ID, please create one.
  3. Your license will automatically be activated once an account is connected to it.

Instructions on downloading and activating Pixyz Plugin have been sent to your organization owner. If you have not received this email, contact your sales representative or support.

Packages entitled with your Unity Industry seat can be accessed through the Unity Package Manager.

  • To install Unity Mars, follow the instructions in the installation section here.
  • To install Havok Physics for Unity, follow the instructions in the installation section here.

Unity also offers services to increase your team’s productivity. These services can be set up in the Unity Dashboard.

Floating License

To get started, follow the instructions below to claim your licenses, create or join an organization, and set up your Unity Licensing Server.

Using Unity floating licenses

Your organization purchased one or more floating licenses. For users in your organization to use Unity Industry, your system administrator must set up a Unity Licensing Server if you don’t already have one. Once your license server is set up, users can borrow and return licenses from the set of available licenses in your organization. You can use the same server for your Build Server floating licenses included with your subscription.

If your system administrator has not yet set up a Unity Licensing Server, the administrator can follow the quick start guide to install and configure the server.

Unity packages

Packages entitled with your Unity Industry - Floating subscription can be accessed through the Unity Package Manager.

Instructions on downloading and activating Pixyz Plugin have been sent to your organization owner. If you have not received this email, contact your sales representative or support.

Unity Services (UGS)

Unity also offers services to increase your team’s productivity. These services can be set up in the Unity Dashboard.
